Using a screwdriver or a nut driver, remove the screws or fasteners securing the control panel to the door. Put the screws aside in a safe place, as you will need them later for reassembly.
Gently pull the control panel away from the door, being careful not to disconnect any wires or cables that may be attached to it.
If there are any wire connectors or cables attached to the back of the control panel, carefully disconnect them. Take note of their positions and orientations for future reference.
